Blackbird Designs Anniversaries of the Heart!!!!

My goal has been to stitch each part of this design as it comes out. I got a little behind with the retreat and a quick trip to Texas. Last week I finally found some time to sit down and stitch. This piece is such a joy to work on :-). I finished the bonus chart, Happy Birthday, Swan Lake and Clara Ellen since I last posted my progress.

Next up for me is Primitive Needle's A&E. When I was at the Shepherd's Bush I saw their stitched model. They used CC, GAST, and WDW threads and I fell in love :-).
Thanks for taking the time to stop by and post comments, I love comments ;-). Hope you all are finding lots of time to stitch and are almost done Christmas shopping, LOL. I haven't even started but I am planning on getting busy. I want to be done before Thanksgiving!!!!

Katrina, Your stitching is beautiful. What fabric are you using? I bought Chai Tea 32 ct. to do mine on. I'm anxious to get mine started but I need to finish my project that I'm working on first. Quaker Diamonds on 32 ct. Mello.

Love, love, love your piece!! I have been gathering these patterns, but still can't decide if I want to stitch them all on one piece of fabric - after seeing yours, I'm leaning towards doing just that!

Can't wait to see you progress on the A&E!

WOW WOW - the AoTH is SOOO beautiful Katrina - So impressed you are able to keep up with the releases - I have not even kept up with purchasing the charts but I'll catch up sometime soon. I have that PN A&E started but for some reason that tree just killed me - I could never get thru the tree - I loved the design - hummm - maybe I need to revisit it. Enjoy ! Melody

Katrina it's gorgeous!!!! With a capital G! I would love to be done with Christmas shopping by Thanksgiving! You think it would get easier as the kids get older, but with an indecisive 16 year old, it's difficult. Any tips! ;o)

Katrina, As with all your work, that is gorgeous and so much stitching too! I haven't seem any other stitchers that are so far along as you either...... Good luck with the Xmas shopping too!

Hugs,

Jackie x

P.S. Thank you for visiting the blog after all this time! :-)
P.P.S. You don't have an online quilt shop that you could recommend do you? I have given up trying to find BBD quilt books here (can you believe that they don't even have any at our quilt shows???) :-)

I want to stitch that Primitive Needle A & E too! And actually picked it for the Crazy January Challenge, but didn't want to do it in silks. Would it be possible to share the conversion you are using? Thanks!

Your anniversary sampler is simply beautiful. Such soft colours with a gentleness about it. It looks like a huge amount of work involved.

Berit said...

I wonder when they're going to release more of the Anniversaries series...

How are things going with your Prim Needle A & E?

Hi Katrina! Thanks for your "welcome back" comment on my blog.

Love your A&E as well... I have it kitted up, but with the NPI silks... I do love your SB conversion... the colours are gorgeous!

Wishing you much love, joy, good cheer and a warm hearth, blessings abounding and loads of peaceful stitching thyme in the New Year!
Blessings always in stitches...

Hi Katrina, just popped in to look around and discovered I wasn't following, that's now been corrected:)

Ok Katrina, Gotta tell me what fabric you are using for your Annivarsary piece -- that is so gorgeous! OH my! and you are stitching this over one - right? You must be gifted with great patience!!! I love over one, but it takes more concentration it seems when I stitch that way. Your piece is amazing!!! You jut run out of words when you see pretty things like that! The fabric -- tell me what is it? That is so pretty, and I could see using it for a lot of projects! Please don't tell me you dyed it yourself!!! Ha! I would really like to know what it is -- it is so gorgeous and I am thinking of a project for it when I find out what it is . You come up with some of the greatest combinations and ideas - I'm sure everybody thinks that, not just me . Hugs and ttys, Cathy

Cathy C said...

I said no more questions, but I lied . Actually I wanted to ask for your A&E piece - what are the colors? Also I had to ask you on your Anniversary BBD piece - do you always use their color choices, or do you substitute? The colors are so absolutely stunning in that piece! You could tempt me with it I could make my 12 out of the 15 projects just out of that one piece ....I might even make myself do it over one, it's so absolutely breath taking! That could shake me right out of my non-stitching doldrums that I've had for a while. You do great things with your stitching. Send some of that creative stuff down here, I could use it .
