A Couple of Finishes and a New Project

Happy St. Patrick's Day! I've been busy doing a lot of stitching and thinking about trying a new rotation. There are so many pieces I want to stitch and I desperately want to finish at least a few this year :-). If that is going to happen I need to be at least a little organized, LOL. I know myself well enough to know I can’t change projects everyday but I want to have several pieces going so here’s what I’ve come up with:

Sunday – Ruth Bacheler A stitchalong I am doing with Margaret, Paulette, Karin, Dona, Laurie and Nicole. We've been trying to convince some other ladies to join us so we may end up an even larger group :-).

Monday through Thursday alternating projects each week (so I work on everything at least once a month)
1. Village of Hawk Run Hollow
2. Mary Peacock
3. And All Was for an Appil
4. Primitive Needle ABC Hornbook

Friday – Stitchalong with Karin
1. Shepherd Bush Love Letters (finished)
2. Primitive Needle Earth Sampler (finished)
3. Goode Huswife Miss Lila’s House
4. Blackbird Designs Blessings and Kind Wishes

Saturday – Ornaments and My Choice (this is where I could stitch on a piece that was calling my name, start a small project like the Sunday School lessons ;-), or work on a UFO, I have several)

I am also going to copy Siobhan's rule, I have to stitch on the rotation project for an hour and then I can switch to another project.

I have a couple of finishes to share. First is Primitive Needle's Earth Sampler. It was so much fun to stitch.

Next up is Shepherd's Bush Love Letters. The directions were a tiny bit difficult to follow but I really like this piece. It's going to be so pretty when it's framed. I am planning on sending it to Jill Rensel, I love the mats she designed for it.

I had gotten a fair bit of the top border done on Ruth Bacheler and decided I wanted to change the colors a bit. I am still unsure about the dark grassy green color. I love Anne's piece. She used the silks and I am using DMC. I looked at several conversion charts, most of the colors are the same, there are a few shade changes and one or two big changes. Other than the green, I am still thinking about the 501 or 502, this is what I decided on:

I haven't stitched on Mary Peacock. It's still in my rotation and I will work on it again in a week or two and post some new pictures then.

I hope this finds everyone well and getting to stitch lots! Thanks for taking the time to read and comment on my blog.

Katrina, I love your finishes!! Now I'm thinking I might need that SB Love Letters as well as the Earth Sampler! lol! I wanted to say that the sort of aqua-ish color on Ruth Bacheler that's in Ann's sampler is a very different color in my sampler. I like Ann's color a lot better. I wonder if it was a discontinued color in the AVAS line or something. Very puzzling. I like what you've come up with though!

Katrina, what delightful finishes! I just this afternoon, kitted up The Earth Sampler, it does so look like great fun to stitch. Also love the Love Letters!

Good luck with your new rotation, I am thinking of doing something a little different next month, we shall see!

Oh wow. Drool time. I LOVE your finishes!! YGG! Earth Sampler is gorgeous, and your SB--too pretty! I can't wait to see it framed up. I love Jill's mats. Your supplies for Ruthie are fabulous. Love the new rotation... I'm envious of your being able to start Miss Lila's House and will eagerly watch your progress!

Beautiful finishes Katrina! I'm so envious of your stitching time right now - I'm caught up in home renovations and wedding plans for our daughter and haven't been able to stitch much. The only words that come out of our mouths right now is "after the wedding" LOL! I love your rotation and stitching projects and can't wait to see your progress on all of them....I'll be drooling!

Love your finishes AND your future projects, Katrina. I have always loved SB but haven't done this heart. I may have to add that to my stash. Good luck with your rotation - I am not good at all at rotations and envy those of you that can do them (and so fast, too!).

Gotta love rotations! I've found that stitching goals help me finish things faster for some reason, even though I was resistant to start them. Last year when Rachel told me she was starting a blog to help her stay focused, I thought she was nuts, but I have to admit, that I really love it. It's motivating to have others looking at my progress, (even if it's only my Mother! LOL)
Love the projects. Thanks for posting!

Wow, you really have been busy. I was wondering what happened to you, but you've been putting your time to good use. I'm especially fond of Love Letters, but they're both beautiful. Good luck with your new rotation.

You girls and your rotations just crack me up. I don't know how you remember what day you stitch what. I'm glad it works for you though.

Woo Hoo... a big congrats on your beautiful finishes. Love Letters will be gorgeous framed in one of Jill's mats.

Now I'm going to have to take another look of the 500 greens for Ruthie... I may be doing a sub or two myself... I want to get more of the top row stitched before deciding.

I am trying this rotation business. I am into my second week and struggling but trying still lol

Oh, you're stitching Ruth as well?? I really, really wish I could join you, because I love that sampler so much. Alas, I have no credit card and thus no means of acquiring the chart, so I will just drool over all of your progress instead and have enormous fun doing that :o)
Beautiful finishes, too!

Your finishes are beautiful! I have to add the Earth Sampler to my stash the more often I see it finished somewhere the more I like it :) And the letter heart is so sweet....
Can't wait to see pics of your future projects. Ruth Bacheler is awesome!!!

Katrina, I love your finishes! They are wonderful. I'm glad Earth Sampler was fun to stitch - it looks like it should be.

You know I don't even have my threads/fabric for Ruthie yet! I am so distracted by everyone's work right now, which all seems more interesting than mine!
