Has it been that long?

In my defense, life has been a tiny bit past crazy. My parents have been living with us for several months, it's been fun but makes things a bit more hectic than usual :-).

I have finished a fair bit of stitching, I made a birthday gift for my friend Karin.

I also made Karin an exchange gift. We wanted to do something to honor our friend Sue who died unexpectedly in August. She was very dear to me, we'd been 'cyber' friends for several years.

I've been on a round robin "mission", LOL. My goal was to fulfill my commitments to my two round robins by the end of the year. I am happy to say I actually finished a month early. Below are pictures of all the round robin stitching I've done since August.

As much as I love them, I've decided the deadlines, my huge stash and my personality are not suited to for round robins. I tend to feel that I need to finish any commitment stitching before I can work on my own projects and because sometimes I just don't 'want' to stitch on a round robin I end up doing nothing. It's ridiculous I know, but there it is. It's time to be a bit selfish and start stitching my stash :-).

I was lucky enough to go to the Attic Sampler Symposium with Karin. We had so much fun and were completely inspired by all of the classes, models, linens, and silks. The classes were wonderful and now I have so many ideas of things I want to do. Here are pictures of the class projects from Shepherd's Bush and Blackbird Designs.

My goal for December is to stitch on whatever I please ;-). I bought several of the conversions they've done at the Attic for different projects so I may stitch one of those. I also want to work on all the Loose Feathers for this year and maybe finish some ornaments.

I hope this post finds you all well and happy. I am looking forward to Christmas, my parents should be happily settled in their new home, their furniture is being delivered today, and my sister and niece will be here for the holidays. My DH and I are going to Hawaii the beginning of January, I am very excited about that :-). Thank you for taking the time to read and/or comment on my blog. I've been doing lots of reading not so much commenting but I hope to do better when things settle down a bit.

Hugs, girlfriend!!

I was so sorry that I didn't go to Colorado for the mere reason I didn't get to see you!

I am with you on the selfish stitching...I do so many things for others that it is all me in 2009! : )

Katrina, I feel *exactly* the same way as you about RRs. This is why I don't do them anymore. Enjoy your stitching for December and remember Anna's comment which had me LOLing. :)

I was lucky enough to meet Karin when I was in New York and I can understand why you two are friends! She's fabulous!! I also agree with the RR's....I'm also a little bit over exchanges. I need to be selfish too and get some of my stash down.

Glad you are back Katrina. We missed you. If you have time, can you email me about your friend Sue (my email is my blog profile). We were cyber-friends too and in RR's for almost 5 years. I was so distressed to see a note about her on the Legacy board a couple of months ago but I don't know what happened.

I like your December goal! I've enjoyed being in the RR with you, but I agree with you - I'm ready to be finished with RRs for a while, so I can concentrate on my own stitching for a little bit!

Great pictures that you've shared!

Dang girl, now I see why you were so happy to finish that last RR! You should be so proud of your accomplishment. Now I want to see what you crank out for yourself!! Love the gift you made for Karin!

You've been so busy! All of your stitched pieces are wonderful and congratulations for getting all those RRs done.

I love the BD and SB class pieces and hope they might be available for general release at some point. Lucky you for being able to attend!

Beautiful stitching on everything.

Envy you getting to go to Attic Needlework Stitching Symposium. That is an awesome shop.

That was a lot of RR stitching. Everything looks great. I echo your sentiments about doing all the RRs and never having time for yourself. I never have gotten involved with that, because I was afraid I would run into the same problem you had. Join the crowd of the selfish stitchers. Stitching is supposed to be fun and stressing over doing RRs takes the fun out of it.

Huge hugs my friend. I love what you have stitched especially the three pieces for Karin and would love to know who designed them please please. They are just so gorgeous. Mind I love everything you stitch. Also could you share you finishing tips please as your finishing is just amazing - in fact so amazing you could do it for money! Hope you have a great Christmas and an even better New Year. Lots of Love Patti xxx
