Some Stitching and More Puppy Pics

Wow, it's been a long time since I've posted. Between puppies, two stitching weekends and life in general I haven't really felt like blogging.

I took my two Merry Cox classes, lots of fun. I spent the weekend up in Denver and did a bit of shopping with my friends and had dinner at the Cheesecake Factory. That's always a treat :-).

The Sampler Guild I belong to had Jane Timmer of Fancy Work for our seminar. Jane has a fabulous blog. I've ordered bits and pieces for the Madeira Tin as well as the Longaberger basket in anticipation of one day being able to do those projects as well. I am a big fan, her class was wonderful and I learned so much about finishing. I still have the bag that everything goes in to complete but I've posted pictures of the finishing I did in class.

The puppies are so much fun they are little bundles of energy :-). They love to chase each other, play and cuddle with us when they need a break. I am so glad we got two, they definitely keep each other entertained. Housebreaking is going well, we haven't had any accidents in weeks and they are sleeping through the night. We've had two vet visits for shots and check-ups, they each weigh 7 lbs. One of Chloe's favorite spots is the laundry room. She loves to get in the laundry basket and nap, LOL.

Sophie loves to play with her "big brother" when he comes to visit. She likes to hang and twirl, LOL.

They had their first trip to the groomer last week. I really love their "puppy" look and I didn't want to change that, but they needed a trim. We are very happy with the results, not quite so much fluff when they need a bath and blow dry and they still look like puppies :-).

I haven't got as much stitching done as I'd like but after my classes, I am out of my slump and ready to start making some progress on my large list of pieces I want to do. First I have to finish up a couple of round robins. I have one I am working on and I hope to be done with it today. After that, I will make Friday my "round robin" day. I hope that will be enough time to keep me on track and allow some time to stitch on all the other things I want to finish :-).

My DH has been traveling for work, thankfully it's not too much. Most of the time he's only gone for a night or two and it's not every week. It gives me a night off from cooking, LOL. Work has been a bit busy for me, we are getting ready for an audit so I will probably work a bit more here and there. I also need to start getting organized to do some spring cleaning and gardening. I think we are going to do some big projects this summer, finishing our basement, landscaping in the backyard and hopefully putting new counters in the kitchen.

I hope you all are well. I haven't been commenting as much as I usually do but I plan on doing better :-). Have a great weekend!

Katrina! It’s great to see you back blogging – I understand how life gets busy. Your puppies are absolutely adorable!

Your finishing on the Merry Cox pieces look wonderful! Are you going to the Shepherd’s Bush retreat this year? The track with Merry Cox looks great! I’m still pondering whether I will be able to make it this year (with my new consulting job, I don’t get paid vacation, so it’s a tough decision!).

Beautiful set you stitched, Katrina! I hardly ever, well, never finish my class projects..so I bow to your faithfulness in getting that done! The pups are just darling, too. You are just amazing with all you do. Hugs, Deb

Your MC pieces are beautiful!!!

Sophie and Chloe are adorable. The spotted one looks exactly as our Kramer did...very sweet!

Thanks for the tip on Top Chef. I'm allergic to seafood/fish (iodine) so that is why I wish they would incorporate some beef or chicken! : )

I love your Fancy Work set, I have a weakness for Shaker boxes. I like the Charleston set too and I am hoping that these will eventually be released to buy as charts.

Hi Katrina,
Haven't chatted with you in an age. Your puppies are darling...makes me want to go out and buy one! I also loved your Merry Cox class pieces...they are lovely! Did the shaker box come with them also? Very nice set. How I wish she would do something near New Mexico that didn't require flying. Do you have a contact number for her? I'd sure like to e-mail her and see if I can find out if she has any kits available to sell without attending a class. I love her smalls, they are all really lovely! Great job on your finishing! Live has been interesting for me but I won't discuss my 'woes' here. Just to say that God has really delivered me from something very challenging recently. I'm glad to be alive!

Hugs and Happy 2008!

Your puppies are just soooooo adorable!! I am a huge dog lover too and we have 3 little dogs in the house that we adore!! Blossom, Chuckie, and Brandi. They are a Shih-tzu, Lhasa Apso and Pekinese. They are our children and we love them dearly! I too used to do accounting and left the workforce and don't miss it at all!! Your stitching is just beautiful and I wish I could take a finishing class too as that is my weak point. I hear you and Michelle finally got your round robins back and I can't be happier! Sure makes you wonder what happened but I am glad to hear you did!! Debby :)
