My Heart, Family and Friends

I have loved every minute of stitching on this piece. It's such a special design. I've spent more than a couple hours doing some geneaology research so I can personalize it :-). So far I've paid tribute to my paternal grandmother, Audie Pearl, and my maternal grandfather Sydney Frederick. Unless a block speaks to me for a particular person, I will wait until the end to add the rest of the initials, names and dates.

Blackbird Designs Anniversaries of the Heart Series
Stitched with GAST, WDW, and CC
on 40 count R&R Olde Town Blend

May Block Sydney Frederick

January, February and May

March and April Audie Pearl

I haven't posted pictures of my four legged babies in a while so I will bore you all with new pictures. I've decided the girls think they are cats, LOL. Oh and Chloe thinks she's a boy, but that's a whole other story ;-). They both like to sleep on the back of the furniture.

Chloe (whose newest habit is hiking her leg on the fence? My neighbors must think I am a nut when I holler "You're not a boy!', LOL)

Sophie (who is such a little lady unless you are offering her food, then she's a vulture, LOL)

I so enjoy reading everyone's blog and I am always excited when I find a "new to me" blog or someone I know starts blogging. My friend Natalia started her blog this year, click on her name and take a look, she has such a fun blog and she's just the sweetest woman :-).

I hope this post finds everyone well and stitching!!! I am off to dig through my stitching bag. I have to find something else to work on while I impatiently wait on the next Anniversaries of the Heart chart. Have a great day!

Beautiful stitching, Katrina! I love your personalizations. It's such a fun piece--I've enjoyed researching names and dates, too. :) Love the pup pics!

Katrina, I love your Hearts series piece~~ I am stitching it also, but am putting the houses in slightly different order...I know, I am stepping out of the box~~~ I am nearly done with the second house~ Like you, I cannot wait for the "bonus" charts to be released.. Great work, Faye

Your Anniversaries of the Heart piece is STUNNING! JUST when I'd decided these ones weren't for me, you show me this! It's gorgeous and now, like you, I'm very much looking forward to the new instalment.

Love your doggies, too. I'm so used to having doggies around, I still go around calling my cats 'woofies'. They don't mind. They've never met a dog...

the photos just don't do justice to the piece. After seeing yours in person it is so delicate on the 40ct you picked. Beautiful, beautiful!!!!
Hugs!

Oh I love what you are stitching on right now - I am collecting patterns and floss - have not decided yet whether to do them on one big piece of fabric or separately. Your looks wonderful.
The doggers are very cute. Mia ( my little female) pees with three legs on the ground and one sort of suspended, not really raised- too funny to watch

Katrina - It looks wonderful. I think yours is the first that I've seen this far along. I love the idea of personalizing this too.

Your dogs are so cute! :) I love your AotH series, it's so pretty! Congratulations on your progress and I'm looking forward to seeing the next instalment!

It's beautiful Katrina. I think finding the perfect personalization match for each design adds so much to the charm of the piece. You've inspired me to get back to stitching my AotH. Charts 4 and 5 are waiting patiently.
Your pups are adorable... but then you already know that. LOL... about the hiking of the leg. My Emma does that too and I thought she was just trying to imitate her big brother.
I'm sure you have something in your stash that will entice you to stitch while waiting for the next AotH release.

Very, very pretty piece, Katrina ... worthy of lots of drool. :)

Looks like your girls are having a nice, lazy summer.

How lovely this is! :o

I'm curious to know about how large each of the blocks is on the 40 ct. fabric. I still don't have an ide aof the "scope" of it having never seen one in person.

Your furbabies are also dears. :D They look like they're staying cool in the summer heat. :D

Love the personalization, too!

I'm LOL! My Sophie thinks she's a boy and your Sophie is a girl. My Gracie is all girl unless she's protecting us and then she's a demon. Sophie likes to, shall we say, hump her sister Gracie. She also lifts her leg slightly when she tinkles - she may be confused. I tell her the same thing - "Stop it Sophie, you're a Girl!"
I love your Blackbird Designs Anniversaries of the Heart Series and hope you'll bring it to Utah for us all to drool over. We have a massive suite and I'm pretty sure Deb is joining us so I hope you'll plan to spend some time with us as well.

Your AoTH stitching has been inspiring me, Katrina. :) You motivated me to get over myself, count over to the third block (Yikes!) and start stitching. I think I counted a dozen times after I put in the first stitch, and I am still worried that I miscounted. Your stitching is absolutely gorgeous! And the puppies are too. :)

What a neat idea for personalizing this piece! Stella also lifts her leg, but while she is squatting. She's gender-confused!

Your Blackbird piece is just stunning! It's so nice that you are enjoying stitching it so much and can personalize it as well!

Your fur babies are sweet. One of my cats (boy) thinks he's a dog - chews everything, chases after balls!

You have had some busy fingers. I envy you getting to go on your retreats. I wil have to make it a point to go to a SB in my life time for sure. Miss seeing you at the meetings. I love the Sarah Seifer sampler-any Adam and Eve captures my heart :)If I can get this stupid Beatrix Potter done I wil be thrilled. I hate Quaker samplers they take away from my Adam & Eve ones. LOL

LOVE how your AoTH is coming out Katrina - I think yours is the only one I've seen completely current with the new release stitched. I don't work on mine often so I am still on chart one.
Enjoy perusing your stash - Mel

I love your Anniversaries of the heart and it makes me wish I was doing it on one piece instead of buying some of the projects. I am working on Autumn at Hawk Run Hollow so my dh would probably have a cow if I got all of these but they are so pretty and I do have a few of them. I just love your doggie photos! They are so cute and pretty!!

Beautiful work on Anniversaries of the Heart.
Ohhhhhh, how I love the pics of Chloe and Sophie. They are looking so very pretty. I must snap a picture of Lily, she too loves to lounge on the back of the furniture. :)

I love the personalization you're making on this piece. It is what makes it really special.

My youngest pup likes to sit on the back of the couch too. The other one wants to be snuggled up to one of us.
